Congress doesn't extend COBRA Tax Credit

Obama and Congress last year passed a 65% tax credit for anyone that involuntarily lost a job and elected COBRA.  So typically if you were healthy it was cheaper to get individual health insurance than stay on COBRA, but with the 65% tax credit many people elected COBRA to save on health premiums.  However the COBRA tax credit ENDED May 31st, and the new health legislation that was going to extend that exluded the COBRA tax credit extension. 

So if you loose a job now will you need to consider your options with your health insurance differently, but feel free to call us with any questions you may have, or to look at some options for you and your family if you've lost coverage or are between jobs.
